Our beloved owls are dying! We have one chance NOW to get the government to ban the most harmful rat baits.
Long-lasting, lethal rodenticides are killing birds, native wildlife and your pets all over Australia.

Birds and other animals are killed by eating poisoned rodents.
A Government review of regulations is underway.
The proposed regulation changes won’t protect owls and wildlife from poisoning.
You would still be able to buy these dreadful baits in a hardware store and pest controllers would be allowed to use them.
Did you know these poisons are showing up right through the food web from reptiles, frogs and fish through to owls, eagles and endangered species such as Quolls, Chuditch and Tasmanian Devils.
Australia is lagging behind badly. Many countries have moved to ban the most harmful poisons from sale to the public. These include the USA, British Columbia in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria. Why not Australia?
You will still be able to control rodents in your house or garden by good hygiene in the garden and preventing access to the house, using traps, ‘natural’ baits and safer rodenticides that are less harmful to wildlife and pets.
